What will become of Lincoln Center?

Now that New York Fashion Week is over there's a few things I wanted to speak about. First off I must say some of these designers really outdid them selves and I'm excited to see which pieces make it off the catwalk to the red carpet and our concrete runway. Collections that blew me away were BCBG, Public School, Libertine, Herve Léger, Zac Posen, Ralph Lauren, Alexander Wang and Emerson by Jackie Frasier Swan. These collections had so much detail to them that's it's hard to pick just one favorite piece! But the hype about NYFW isn't just about the clothes on the runway it's also about the clothes worn by the attendees of any given show, the networking opportunities, the celebrities who if you caught at the right moment you could even catch a quick interview with. In the past the lobby of Lincoln Center was a fashion bloggers Mecca it was the perfect place to gain great content for your blog outside of the shows and backstage. This time around Lincoln center has been completely transformed although it looked very chic the lobby has now been transformed into a huge black space. Gone were almost all of the fun little booths where you could go have your photo taken that were once sponsored by Treseme, or the super cool Mabeline makeup vending machine that had women of all ages wide eyed. Very few things remained Samsung definitely had a great thing going on this time tho, gone were the cell phone cases something a lot more interesting was introduced. Guest artist were hired to draw portraits of you on the companies soon to be released Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition. It was truly user interactive and I really enjoyed it. On the other hand everything else was just lack luster the excited energies that once filled the space had disappeared. Many compared the space to a morgue or a really chic funeral and it's no wonder because many of the shows that LC once housed have been moved off site and not just down town Manhattan but a Fashion Week first Alexander Wang hosted his show in Brooklyn. However the case this change I'm atmosphere I believe will catapult a bigger change, I predict more shows will be done off site as well as in Brooklyn as for having a main hub for all us fashion lovers to convene at and mingle in between shows we're just going to have to watch and wait - Tevin Evans
