Be Your Own Brand

As we approach the new year I can't help to wonder what will become of me in the coming year. 2014 has bin a great year for me. I have worked with so many great people celebrity hairstylist, Tv personalities, style experts, models and designers and now I have the best opportunity yet. Working alongside well re known fashion stylist ( whom at this time I will not name due to someone tying to sabotage everything I do) I know you guys who know me personally are probably thinking who would do such a thing. Well the thing most people forget is that in every industry the competition is intense. No one wants the newbie to get ahead. After all would you. It took me along time to realize that in this industry you have no friends. It's always a competition. Most of the time I just sit back and observe people. I take heed of everything they say and do. Sometimes you just have to stop everything your doing to really see what's going on in your life. I'm losing friends along the way and while most would be sad- I'm happy. Might sound strange but to become successful it means losing people who no longer serve any value in your life. God puts and take people out of your life for two reason: 1. Lesson 2. Blessing. One friend told me I was a opportunist and quite frankly I don't think she knew what the definition of that word meant because she wouldn't have said that to me. I have created my own luck and opportunities buy researching and connecting with people on my own. No one has every helped me land a job. Definition of a opportunists -

a person who exploits circumstances to gain immediate advantage rather than being guided by consistent principles or plans.
"most burglaries are committed by casual opportunists"

That's when I knew I could no longer fight for a friendship because of what you said and think of me.

Don't get me wrong guys I love her to death but our lives are on two different paths. And that's okay because I know we will both become very successful.

Over the past couple months I have given more thought into blogging and focusing on my own personal brand. I believe if I give my all the way I give my all assisting other people something magical will happen. Keep your eyes open and watch out for the new and improved LightsFashionDillinger for 2015.

For all the girls and boys out there looking to start a career in the fashion industry. Make sure this is something that your heart truly desires. This life comes with a lot of sleepless nights,long hours, blood, sweat and tears. Im learning to have alligator skin. That's how tough you have to be. Also be prepared to do a lot of free work. Internships what the industry calls it.
